The New York borough of Brooklyn has been a hotbed of culinary trends over the past decade. And now Japan¡¯s Mister Donut wants to cash in on the city¡¯s brand of cool.
Launched as Brooklyn D&D, this new ¡°donut and danish¡± hybrid (?194) comes in four varieties: caramel nuts, strawberry, banana chocolate and the stunningly boring bran.
Save for the last flavor, the D&D strikes the right amount of sweetness with the flakiness of the treat¡¯s danish element. It may not yet be Brooklyn-approved, but it¡¯s an affordable and serviceable snack.
