The UNESCO World Heritage Committee＊ is deliberating in Busan, South Korea, whether to add the Asuka-Fujiwara ancient capitals to its list of World Heritage sites.
Asuka was one of Japan's earliest imperial capitals before the court eventually decamped for other locales.
