Frenchman Troussier led Japan when it cohosted the World Cup with South Korea in 2002 and took it to the last 16 in only it¡¯s second appearance in the tournament.
Japan has?not missed a World Cup since, and it has openly talked about winning this year¡¯s competition in North America, where it faces Brazil in Houston on Monday.
