Sasaki (2-3) didn¡¯t walk a ?batter for the first time in 16 career MLB starts and struck ?out a ?career-high eight batters. He threw 91 pitches ¡ª?69 ?for strikes ¡ª?while earning his third career victory.
¡°The first time, some of the guys were saying his split/slider were going away to righties, and then the second time through, it was going in to them,¡± Angels manager Kurt Suzuki said. ¡°I don¡¯t know if he¡¯s doing that by design, but I think it was just effectively wild in the strike zone where guys couldn¡¯t zone him up.
