The Iwate Big Bulls recently signed basketball Hall of Famer Clyde ¡°The Glide¡± Drexler¡¯s son Adam.
The B. League¡¯s second-division Big Bulls are currently 2-12, and the younger Drexler, a 196-cm forward, is expected to make his Iwate debut after the league¡¯s current wide bye week.
Adam Drexler, 23, attended Loyola Marymount as a freshman for the 2012-13 academic year and played in 13 games, then transferred to the University of Houston, his father¡¯s alma mater. He sat out one season due to NCAA Division I transfer rules.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2014-15, Drexler appeared in 11 games. According to the University of Houston athletic department website, Drexler then left the team due to ¡°personal reasons¡± that summer.
Clyde Drexler starred for the Cougars during the Phi Slamma Jamma days in the early 1980s. He became a household name in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets. He won a title with the Rockets in the 1994-95 season.
The younger Drexler wears No. 22 like his famous father.
