Texas Legends guard Yuki Togashi made his NBA Development League debut on Friday in a 114-106 home loss to the Santa Cruz Warriors.
The 21-year-old Togashi, who hails from Niigata Prefecture, played 4 minutes, 41 seconds, all in the second quarter. He had one steal and one turnover and didn¡¯t attempt a shot.
The Legends (2-1) opened their season last weekend.
The 2013-14 bj-league All-Star Game MVP while suiting up for the Akita Northern Happinets, Togashi played for the Dallas Mavericks¡¯ NBA Summer League squad and attended the Mavs¡¯ preseason camp before being released. He was then chosen in the second round of the D-League draft by Santa Cruz and traded to Texas.
Togashi is aiming to become the second Japanese to reach the NBA. Guard Yuta Tabuse had a four-game stint with the Phoenix Suns a decade ago.
