If ski jumper Ryoyu Kobayashi is feeling pressure about defending his gold medal at the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics next month, he isn¡¯t showing it.
Appearing calm and collected, Kobayashi spoke about his prospects for the Feb. 6-22 Winter Games at the Foreign Correspondents¡¯ Club of Japan on Monday.
¡°Ski jumping is a tough sport,¡± Kobayashi said. ¡°There are ups and downs, it¡¯s contingent on various conditions and it¡¯s difficult to win by points. My goal is to show big flights, to build excitement at the venue and the medals will follow.¡±
