The equestrian club of Hiroshima University has turned horse manure into a community initiative aimed at creating a recycling-oriented society.

The club has been composting the manure to produce roughly 40 metric tons of organic fertilizers a year, and the number of local farmers who use them is increasing gradually.

Efforts are also being made to develop dedicated rose fertilizers from the manure for commercial use to financially support the club¡¯s activities.
