¡°Get down!¡± Higa shouted.
On June 30, 1959, a U.S. Air Force jet based at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa Prefecture crashed into a residential district in the former city of Ishikawa ¡ª now part of Uruma ¡ª and exploded. Fragments of the aircraft tore into Miyamori Elementary School.
