SYDNEY 每 A logistics cooperation framework has been set up among Japan＊s Air Self-Defense Force, the U.S. Air Force and the Royal Australian Air Force, the Australian Air Force said Thursday.
Officials from the three sides signed a document on the framework in Canberra on Tuesday.
They aim to improve interoperability by flexibly sharing fuel and equipment under the framework.
Japan, the United States and Australia will utilize the new framework in their ongoing Exercise Southern Cross 26 involving F-35 state-of-the-art stealth fighter jets. The trilateral exercise kicked off Monday and will run until July 17.
The three nations have taken turns?hosting a joint drill using F-35s, with two such exercises held last year 〞 one in the U.S. territory of Guam and the other in Aomori Prefecture.
