The Fukushima Institute for Research, Education and Innovation (F-REI) is scheduled?to be completed in fiscal 2030, with an aim to become a ¡°world-renowned central institute for creative reconstruction.¡±
The institute, to be constructed in a city hit by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown, is expected to bring various benefits, including offering cutting-edge research in fields such as nuclear reactor decommissioning and energy, and encouraging related companies to move into the area.
