North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected a ¡°newly inaugurated nuclear materials production factory,¡± state-run media said Thursday, as he looks to continue building up his country¡¯s weapons program at ¡°an exponential rate.¡±
Touting the North¡¯s capabilities, the official Korean Central News Agency quoted Kim as saying that his country¡¯s ¡°weapons-grade nuclear materials production capacity more than doubled¡± over the last five years ¡ª and that, following ¡°an important consultative meeting for bolstering up the nuclear forces,¡± it was time for even ¡°larger plans.¡±
Kim ¡°made an important conclusion clarifying the action guidelines for rapidly accelerating the qualitative and quantitative strengthening¡± of the country¡¯s nuclear forces, saying that the expanded nuclear production capacity and development of ¡°sophisticated¡± nuclear technology ¡°create a mature environment for going into the new next-stage of bolstering up the nuclear forces and ¡ offer the possibility of carrying out larger plans.¡±
