South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said he talked with U.S. President Donald Trump about the outcome of the American leader¡¯s recent trip to Beijing and ways to bolster bilateral cooperation amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.
Lee said in a post on X that Trump briefed him on the results of his May 14 and 15 summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, while Seoul and Washington¡¯s leaders also exchanged views on international affairs and bilateral cooperation. The call lasted about half an hour on Sunday night, according to a separate statement from the Blue House, the office of the South Korean president.
¡°We shared the understanding that close communication and coordination between our two governments is more important than ever amid rapidly changing global circumstances,¡± Lee wrote in the social media post. He added that the two leaders agreed to continue cooperating for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
