At 6 a.m. one morning in the village of Minamiaso, Kumamoto Prefecture, Toshimasa Murata worked to the sound of roosters crowing, as he harvested?leafy greens in a vast field under a sea of clouds.

Murata, who runs Kotobuki Farm, is a native of Iwaki in?Fukushima Prefecture, which was hit by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.

In 2015, he moved to Minamiaso, which?was also struck by a major quake 10 years ago.
