There is a hospital in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka that bears the name of Aichi Prefecture.
Aichi Hospital was set up in 1996 by Moazzem Hossain, a doctor who studied at Nagoya University, with support from the people of Aichi Prefecture. Since then, he has been offering medical care for people in poverty for 30 years at the hospital, which sits by the river in the northern part of the city.
In November, Hossain, 63, examined a girl who fell from a three-wheeler taxi and hit her head hard.
