An official died and another was injured after a resident who was subject to a court-ordered eviction stabbed them at an apartment in Tokyo¡¯s Suginami Ward on Thursday, according to police.
At around 10:15 a.m. that day, emergency calls reported that people had been stabbed at the apartment in the ward¡¯s Izumi district, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
A Tokyo District Court bailiff in his 60s and Toshiaki Oguri, 61, a male employee of a guarantor company, were visiting a second-floor unit along with officials of a law firm and a shipping company, to carry out a forced eviction when they were attacked with a kitchen knife by the resident, police said.
