A summary court has ordered Japanese actor Ryoko Hirosue, 45, to pay a ?700,000 ($4,475) fine over a rear-end collision on the Shin-Tomei Expressway last April that injured a passenger in her vehicle, court officials said.
The summary court in Shizuoka Prefecture issued the order on Dec. 23 and disclosed it on Monday, according to the Shizuoka District Court as reported by the Yomiuri Shimbun.
Hirosue had been summary-indicted for negligent driving resulting in injury.
According to the indictment, Hirosue changed lanes at approximately 185 kph inside a tunnel on the eastbound lanes of the Shin-Tomei Expressway in Kakegawa, Shizuoka Prefecture, on April 7, and collided with a large tractor-trailer.
A man riding in the front passenger seat of her vehicle suffered injuries including fractured ribs, prosecutors said. Hirosue also sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Following the incident, she was arrested at the hospital on April 8 on suspicion of assault for allegedly attacking a nurse but was later not indicted on that charge.
