Japan launched its own bureau of government efficiency Tuesday, just after the infamous Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the United States was reported to have been dismantled.

Officially named ¡°Office for Administrative Reform and Promotion of Efficiency,¡± the bureau will cooperate with the ministries of finance and internal affairs on budget overhauls and spending reviews, Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said at a news conference Tuesday.
