Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy on Sunday used a speech during a surprise visit to Singapore for a major Asian security conference to lament China¡¯s unwillingness to use its sway with Moscow to help end Russia¡¯s ¡°cruel war¡± ahead of a peace conference later this month.
Addressing the Shangri-La Dialogue forum in the city-state, Zelenskyy said that by attending the June 15-16 peace summit in Switzerland, Asian nations would highlight their commitment to the rules-based international order and lend more credibility to efforts to end the more than 2-year-old conflict.
¡°Every leader in every country can show their commitment to peace,¡± he said. ¡°The global majority can ensure, with their involvement, that what is agreed upon is truly implemented.¡±
