The transport ministry conducted an emergency on-site inspection of Japan Airlines* facilities on Friday morning, following a series of incidents involving the company*s aircraft over the past seven months.

The probe, conducted under the aviation law, targeted daily operations pertaining to flight operations and safety management at company facilities near Tokyo*s Haneda Airport, including JAL*s safety promotion headquarters. The inspection follows another emergency probe of the company in February.

※As a company, we take the series of unsafe incidents, as well as the fact that they led to the emergency probe, very seriously,§ a JAL official said following the investigation. ※In light of the guidance from authorities, we will make company-wide efforts to restore confidence in our company.§
