Rose Mind, a popular sake from Tenpoichi sake brewer in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, has seen its demand surge since it was served during the Group of Seven summit held in Hiroshima in May.
¡°We are very honored to have been chosen among many sake breweries,¡± said Chikako Utsumi, 37, a public relations staff at Tenpoichi, the only brewery in Fukuyama.
The term ¡°rose mind,¡± which local people use to mean ¡°compassion¡± and ¡°kindness,¡± spread in Fukuyama, where citizens had planted roses in hopes of reconstruction after the war. Rose Mind is made of rice and yeast from roses, the symbolic flower of Fukuyama.
