WASHINGTON ¨C Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush elaborated Wednesday on his proposal to put a limited number of U.S. ground troops in combat against the Islamic State.
One day after the Florida governor told Bloomberg¡¯s Mark Halperin that the U.S. is ¡°going to have to have ground troops¡± to fight the terrorist group, Bush, speaking at The Citadel, a military college in South Carolina, said the U.S. should immediately go beyond the bombing sorties already underway in the region.
¡°The United States ¡ª in conjunction with our NATO allies and more Arab partners ¡ª will need to increase our presence on the ground,¡± Bush said.
