Currently, police deploy what are officially known as œ»Íš·ŽtžæÖªø (kštsš± hansoku kokuchisho, traffic violation notices) to those who break the law. These include ÇàÇзû, which are issued for relatively minor traffic offenses, such as ÐźÅoÒ (shingš mushi, running a red light) and Ò»r²»Í£Ö¹ (ichiji futeishi, failure to stop at a stop sign).
