Pepsi Japan¡¯s seasonal cola specials, appearing on convenience store shelves for about a month or two at most, are always a viral hit.
Past limited-edition flavors, such as Salty Watermelon and Red Bean, captured the Internet¡¯s dual love of strange beverage concepts and ¡°weird Japan.¡°?The latest, Pepsi Pink Cola, boasts a strawberry milk taste beneath its candy sheen.
In reality, Pepsi Pink (which actually saw a brief debut in 2011) tastes more like bubble gum than anything else ¡ª though a friend offered up a comparison to ¡°body soap.¡±
It¡¯s so sweet that after a few promising first sips, finishing one bottle can be a challenge. Pepsi Pink suffers the same fate as previous offerings ¡ª it¡¯s good for one go around, but isn¡¯t worth revisiting once the thrill wears off.
