In ¡°Meteos,¡± a new puzzle game for the Nintendo DS handheld, the denizens of the universe greet you with a plea (in earnest, broken English): ¡°We want you, save our planet!¡±

You see, a rogue star named Meteos has gone berserk, raining a kaleidoscope of meteorites upon neighboring planets and it is up to you to save the universe by repelling these falling rocks.

Most video games wrapped in apocalyptic themes involve a hero and an environment to explore, and are loaded with plenty of guns and swords. Not ¡°Meteos.¡± Players take back the cosmos ¡°Tetris¡°-style by maneuvering blocks in linear patterns. Only by clearing lines, racking up points and masterfully arranging blocks can you beat back Meteos and win the game.
