When manga artist Kabi Nagata published ¡°My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness¡± in 2016, she introduced many readers to a little-known corner of Japan¡¯s sex industry: rezu ´Ú¨±³ú´Ç°ì³Ü, a segment of the market in which women provide services exclusively to female clients.
The manga became an international success in 2018 by winning the Harvey Award, one of the most prestigious accolades in the comic book industry, and has been translated into other languages, including English, Italian, German and Spanish.
Obo (who uses a pseudonym professionally), the manager of Tokyo- and Osaka-based rezu ´Ú¨±³ú´Ç°ì³Ü provider Lesbian Girls Group,?recognized one of his own agencies in Nagata¡¯s stories?published online and contacted the artist to thank her. This was the beginning of a direct and long-term collaboration between these service providers and manga publishers that has been going on in the past 10 years.
