Nearly 30 years after Wu-Tang Clan last performed in Japan, the pioneering 1990s hip-hop group returned for the final stop of its farewell tour ¡ª?and one last ¡°sayonara.¡±
Thousands of fans dressed in Wu-Tang¡¯s trademark yellow packed Yokohama¡¯s K Arena on May 24 for what was billed as one of the final opportunities to see the legendary hip-hop collective together, even with several members absent from the Japan stop.?
As the lights dimmed, flashing strobes swept across the crowd while LED columns transformed the stage into a glowing temple. Wu-Tang leader RZA then jogged out in sunglasses and a baggy coat, chanting, ¡°Wu-wu-wu-wu, Tang-tang-tang-tang,¡± before shouting, ¡°Show me your energy!¡± The fans roared back.
