When the Apple TV series returned for its second season Feb. 27, it picked up moments after the first season¡¯s cliffhanger. But in reality ¡ª and for some of the characters ¡ª two years have passed.
That gap is most visible in Kentaro Randa, played by Ren Watabe. While Anna Sawai¡¯s Cate Randa and Kiersey Clemons¡¯ May Olowe-Hewitt remain trapped in a liminal realm, Kentaro has spent two years on Earth, growing into someone better equipped to confront family tensions ¡ª and the threat of another monster attack.
