A bands-stick-to-bands mentality has pretty much been the norm across the Tokyo music scene for the past few years. Similarly, there¡¯s a DJs-stick-to-DJs mentality, as scenesters stay in their bubble and listen to like-minded acts.

When these worlds collide, though, it¡¯s like waking up to a whole new realm of possibilities. Even if, yes, it may have been done before ¡ª the experience of watching an exhilarating act ignoring genre constraints can make it worth staying out all night.

That¡¯s the situation I find myself in at , in Shibuya Ward¡¯s Maruyamacho, where a four-piece called bed is taking the stage.
