The Kyoto International Manga Museum is hosting an entire exhibition dedicated to Hisashi Eguchi, one of Japan¡¯s most prominent manga artists.

Best known for his series ¡°Susume!! Pirates¡± and ¡°Stop!! Hibari-kun!,¡± Eguchi has been called a leading ¡°pop art¡± innovator of manga. This exhibition traces 38 years of the artist¡¯s work, through more than 300 exhibits that include advertisements, magazine and book covers, CD jackets and film character designs.

There will also be an opportunity to see Eguchi at a live-sketching event on June 11 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., when he will draw portraits of the lucky winners of a lottery.
