¡°I used to struggle with that during my teens,¡± says Hong Khaou, the writer and director of ¡°Lilting,¡± a tale of motherly love and filial devotion (tinged heavily with obligation) between a Cambodian-Chinese mom and her gay son in London.
¡°Lilting¡± is Khaou¡¯s first feature film, and, unlike his previous short films, it addresses the role of mothers and family in gay relationships.
