From its collection of around 2,500 pieces, the Bridgestone Museum¡¯s ¡°Best of The Best¡± includes works by major names such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cezanne and Jackson Pollock.
This exhibition looks back on the museum¡¯s 63 years before it closes on May 18 for building renovations.
Nearly 160 works are being displayed, spanning 19th-century Western impressionism to 20th-century fauvism, cubism and abstract art. Numerous works by Japanese artists who were influenced by Western movements are also being featured in a show that follows the impressive expansion of the museum¡¯s collection; Jan. 31-May 17.
