Though it¡¯s the Year of the Horse, we¡¯re kicking off 2026 with a rabbit friend instead. And, yes, it¡¯s not all cats and dogs at ARK. Since its founding in 1990, the shelter has taken in quite an array of animals, including guinea pigs, hamsters and even a fox.
This sweet little bunny is named Jaina and she¡¯s a Netherland dwarf. Light tan in color, she¡¯s 3 years old and a really big eater ¡ª an important trait for a rabbit to stay healthy.
Jaina is a very friendly girl that loves to hop around her foster home in Tokyo, where she is waiting to be adopted. Word is she¡¯s very active, but also loves to relax in her favorite spots around the apartment. She¡¯s good at communicating her needs, coming over when she wants attention or hears the rustle of a bag of treats. Stroking the top of her head can even lull her to sleep.
Though a rabbit¡¯s affection isn¡¯t expressed as overtly as that of a dog or cat, once you learn how to read bunny, you¡¯ll realize Jaina has a lot to say.
