Chris Glenn needs no introduction among fans of samurai history and culture. Hailing from Australia, the longtime Nagoya resident is a radio DJ, TV presenter and author specializing in feudal Japanese castles, armor, weapons and battles.

This month, Glenn, 57, will step into the shoes of one of Japan¡¯s most famous historical figures. He¡¯s set to portray Oda Nobunaga in the Three Heroes Parade of the 71st Nagoya Festival on Oct. 18 and 19, where Japan¡¯s three great unifiers ¡ª Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu ¡ª march through the city center alongside their soldiers.

¡°I feel particularly honored to have been chosen as Nobunaga because he¡¯s considered the most important of the three ¡ª the master of both Hideyoshi and Ieyasu,¡± Glenn says.
